Gillham Pack 19 - Calvin Page 12

He reached for the nightstand, blindly opening the drawer, using his fingers to find the tube he was looking for. When he closed on it, he withdrew the lube from the drawer and dropped it next to Calvin’s face.

Calvin blinked, his mouth slightly open. He didn’t stop Alex, though, so Alex reached between them, stroking a hand down Calvin’s stomach, loving the way Calvin shivered under his touch.

Calvin was already hard, and Alex touched his cock, spread the sticky fluid already seeping from it. He loved that Calvin had such a reaction to him, and he wondered just how much he could push Calvin before he went wild and begged.

Calvin finally moved, pressing his palms against the small of Alex’s back and pulling Alex’s T-shirt up, and Alex helped him, and together they also got rid of the soft pants he slept in.

Calvin’s eyes were wide when Alex pressed their bodies together again, naked this time. It was the first time he was able to feel Calvin that way, and he knew he’d never get enough of the sensations.

Their skin slid together as Alex moved, grinding down. Calvin’s cock slid into the groove between Alex’s thigh and his groin, and Calvin moaned, closing his eyes, as if the sensations were too much for him.

Alex grabbed the lube and opened it, slicking his fingers and reaching between them as he kissed every inch of skin he could get to. He never stopped moving, pressing their cocks together as well as he could as he prepped Calvin to take him. It took a little while, but to Alex’s surprise, Calvin was incredibly relaxed, as if he trusted Alex completely.

And when Alex finally slid into his mate, buried himself as deep as he could, Calvin wrapped himself around him, and Alex knew he was home. It didn’t matter that they weren’t mated, and that they wouldn’t mate any time soon. They were together, and that was all Alex wanted.

He had to rein in his bat when his orgasm hit him, when Calvin convulsed around him as he came. He’d noticed the hint of fangs in Calvin’s mouth, and he knew Calvin was fighting his Labrador, just like he was fighting his own animal half.

And when they lay together afterward, Calvin’s head on Alex’s chest, and Alex’s hand buried it Calvin’s hair, Alex knew they’d be together forever, mating or no mating.

  Chapter Seven

Calvin laughed at the face Josh made when Alex threw him the towel.

“Come on, I’ll wash, you dry.”

  “That’s not fair,” Josh pouted.

  “How is it not fair?”

Josh opened his mouth, but nothing came out of it. He huffed. “It just is.”

Alex laughed. “Come on, Josh. I need help. How am I supposed to do everything on my own?”

Josh rolled his eyes, but he took the towel from where it had landed on the counter. “There are only three plates.”

“So it shouldn’t be too tiring for you to help me, right?”

Josh tried his best to look miffed, but Calvin didn’t miss the way the corner of his lips twitched in an almost smile. Josh didn’t let it show, of course, but then he couldn’t afford to let Calvin and Alex know he was happy, right? That was what it felt like anyway, at least to Calvin.

For some reason he didn’t know, Josh had apparently decided he needed to make Calvin and Alex’s life difficult. It wasn’t all the time, and Alex said he was just testing his new boundaries, seeing how much Calvin and Alex would bend before snapping, and Calvin hoped it really was just that and that it would soon be over. Josh had lived with them for only two weeks, and Calvin and Alex had met only a month before that, yet it felt like a lifetime.

The three of them were still learning each other and trying to find their place in their small new family. It wasn’t easy, and sometimes it was downright hard. Calvin and Josh clashed often, leaving Alex with the peacemaker role. He didn’t seem to mind, maybe because he’d grown up with two brothers and was used to it, but Calvin hated it.

He didn’t want to fight with Josh. He wanted all of them to be happy, but he was at a loss as to how to make that happen for Josh. It would be so much easier if Josh told him what he needed, but they didn’t talk, except for the normal chatting between people who lived together, and Calvin had learned not to push. It would only make things worse.

He understood where Josh was coming from, even though he hadn’t lived as long with his own foster family. They’d been one of the few families who’d kept him the longest, though, so he thought he did understand, up to a point. He and Josh were different, though, and he didn’t know how to get through to his brother.

Alex probably had a better chance to do that anyway. Josh had taken to him like an older brother, and while it made Calvin jealous, it was better than having Josh stew in his anger.

“You okay?” Alex said, and Calvin realized he’d been staring at nothing for the past who knew how many minutes.

  “Yeah, of course.”

Alex smiled and kissed the top of Calvin’s hair. Josh made a retching noise, and Alex rolled his eyes. “Shut it, midget. You’re sixteen, not nine. You know boys don’t have cooties.”

  “Ha, ha, you’re so funny.”

“And don’t think I didn’t see you with David the other day. How old is he? Eighteen?”

Calvin perked up at that. Did Josh already have a boyfriend? He’d only been in Gillham for two weeks. Not that Calvin could say anything to that since he’d moved in with Alex only days after meeting him, but Alex was his mate, and Calvin was nineteen. It was different.

Josh blushed. “You didn’t see anything, because we didn’t do anything.”

“You don’t deny you were with him, though,” Alex pointed out. Calvin could tell he was having fun, and he hoped they weren’t pushing Josh too much. Who knew how he’d react.

  “We’re friends.”

  “Uh-huh.”

  “Really.”

  “Yeah, sure.”

Josh huffed and stomped away, throwing the towel at Alex’s face as he went. Alex laughed and caught the towel before it could hit him. Calvin waited until Josh had left the kitchen to look at Alex.

“Do we need to have the safe-sex speech with him?”

Alex made a strangled noise. “I was joking, you know? I don’t think he and David are knocking boots.”

  Calvin grinned. “Knocking boots? Really?”

“Whatever. I was just teasing him. “

“So you didn’t see him with David?”

“I did, but they were just talking. Nothing I saw indicates they’re more than friends.”

Calvin bit his lower lip and looked at the door. “Still. He’s sixteen. He’s bound to have sex sooner or later.”

Alex wrapped an arm around Calvin’s waist. “You didn’t have sex until you were nineteen.”

“Yeah, but I lived on the streets until I was nineteen, and trust me, that doesn’t make you want to have sex. He’s safe, he has friends. He’s going to have a boyfriend soon.” Calvin frowned. “Or maybe a girlfriend? Do we know if he’s gay, or straight, or bisexual?”

Alex cleared his throat. “I haven’t actually asked him, so no. Like I said, I was just teasing him.”

“Maybe we should talk with him, then. Just in case. I want to make sure he knows what he’s doing and that he doesn’t have to do anything he doesn’t feel ready for.”

“Yeah, okay, but you’ll be the one to have that talk with him.” Calvin opened his mouth to protest, but Alex shook his head and stuck his tongue out. “You’re his brother after all.”

“You have more experience with brothers.”

“Iggy and Christian are older than me. If anything, they were the ones who had the talk with me, not the other way around.”

  “But Josh likes you best.”

Alex kissed Calvin’s temple. “No, he doesn’t. You’re his brother. I’m just his brother’s boyfriend.”

Calvin wished he really believed that. Maybe he did, deep down inside, but he wished Josh would be more open to at least talking to him.

&n
bsp; The doorbell rang, and Calvin frowned. “Were you expecting someone?”

Most people barely bothered knocking when they came to visit. The only ones who did were Alex’s parents and Christian, but Iggy, Zane, Sei, Clea, and even Nuallan and Neriah just came in. No one ever rang the doorbell.

Alex gently pushed Calvin toward the door. “Actually, you were.”

“Uh, I’m pretty sure I would remember if I was.”

“Trust me. Go open the door.”

Calvin trusted Alex, and that was the only reason why he walked to the entrance. He opened the door and blinked at the person on the other side of it.

  “Brian?”

Brian grinned and put down the backpack he’d been holding over his shoulder. “Hey, Cal. Long time no see.”

  “What are you doing here?”

Brian’s gaze slid to somewhere behind Calvin, and when Calvin looked back, he wasn’t surprised to see Alex standing there. “Your man here called me, told me you were here and invited me to come visit.”

  “He did?”

“Yep.” The mirth faded from Brian’s tone. “He also told me what happened to you after Mom kicked you out. God, Cal, I’m so sorry. I never wanted anything like that to happen to you. You didn’t deserve it.”

Calvin shook his head. “I know that. You had nothing to do with it.”

  “I should have tried harder.”

“You couldn’t have done anything, Brian. She was your mother, and you were only sixteen.”

“I tried to find you, you know? I thought you might stick close to home, and I spent days looking for you.”

“I couldn’t stay. Not after what happened.”

Alex cleared his throat. “Why don’t you come in? You guys are letting all the warmth out.”

Calvin stepped aside. Brian leaned down to grab his backpack again and walked in. Calvin wasn’t sure what to do or say. The last thing he’d expected when he’d opened the door had been to see Brian. He’d thought often of the man who’d been his best friend for two years. He and Alex had talked about the possibility of contacting Brian, but then Josh had happened, and Calvin had put Brian on the back burner.

Alex showed Brian to the living room, but Calvin waited in the entrance. He flung himself into Alex’s arms as soon as Alex came back. “How did you do this?” Calvin had never told Alex where his foster family had lived, or even their name.

  “I have connections.”

  “Tell me.”

Alex kissed Calvin’s hair. “I asked Mihaja for help. He already had this info saved from when he searched your brother’s history. He gave me Brian’s phone number.”

“I don’t know how to thank you.”

  “You don’t have to.”

  “I know.”

“I just want you to be happy.”

“I am.” Calvin would never have imagined he could have all this, not even a few months ago. His life had changed so much since Hamilton had found him in that alley, and Calvin was almost grateful for Ray beating him. Hamilton wouldn’t have found him otherwise.

And Calvin wouldn’t be so happy.
